Patch Panels
A patch panel is a panel with a large number of connection sockets, on which temporary or permanent connections can be made with cables (patch cords). In modern office buildings, there is usually a patch panel for making telephone and network connections. In each workspace, there are a number of sockets with RJ-45 jacks. These are connected to the jacks on the central patch panel. The home telephone exchange and internet connections also terminate on the patch panel. The patch panel comes with a large number of RJ-45 cables with a length of 1 to 2 metres. If one wants to connect a telephone or computer somewhere and connect it to equipment elsewhere in the building, one only needs to make a connection between two jacks on the patch panel.
Keystones
Key stone Patch panels have empty spaces, in which the keystones can be arranged yourself. It is therefore possible to choose which key stone should go where in the patch panel. This can be useful when regular patch panels do not meet your needs or when only a small number of cables need to be routed.
