Cat5e U/UTP cables have been the standard network cable for many years when it came to networking. Still the utp cat 5 cable / utp cat5e cable offers sufficient speed and bandwidth for most networks. But due to increasing demands (now and in the future) on networks, the standard cable is now the Cat6 cable. The utp cat 5e cable has a speed of 1 gigabit with a bandwidth of 100 mHz.

utp cat 5: how does it differ from newer cables?

Compared to the Cat6 cable and even higher categories, the Cat5 utp cable can mainly handle fewer network applications at the same time. Its bandwidth, for example, is 2.5 lower than that of its big brother the Cat6 cable.

For which applications is a Cat5e utp cable sufficient?

With its speed of up to 1gigabit per second, the Cat5e cable is sufficient for most home networks. Do you connect a lot of devices to the network and do a lot of gaming, for example? Then the bandwidth can cause delays. A Cat6 cable is then better suited for the home network because of its higher bandwidth.

• Do you want a stable connection for a long time? Then buy Ca5e utp cables with 100% copper wiring
• CAT5e utp cable maintains its speed up to a length of about 100 metres. After that, the speed decreases
• Want your cable to be well protected from outside radiation? Then take a protected Cat5e cable
